Arcoprofil chooses VICIVISION for industrial metrology

From its origins to precision engineering

Arcoprofil was founded in the 1970s as a small family business operating in the textile industry.

Over time, the company evolved its business and specialised in precision engineering, introducing technological innovations that played a key role in its growth.

“We moved from GROB rolling to becoming the first company in Italy to introduce gear cutting with a Felss machine, significantly improving the quality of the tooth profile.”

Today, Arcoprofil works almost exclusively with international markets, exporting 99.9% of its production and meeting demanding quality standards on a daily basis

Sustainability and industrial innovation

The company’s strong international focus has led it to adopt a vision centred on environmental sustainability for many years.

“We introduced the concept of sustainability into the company more than 10 years ago, also thanks to the influence of our main customers in Northern Europe.”

When Arcoprofil moved to its new facility, the company immediately invested in a photovoltaic system, which now covers approximately 35% of its energy requirements.

“Thanks to this system, we aim to save approximately 830 tonnes of CO₂ per year.”

Waste management also follows an approach based on recovery and reintegration into the production cycle, with the aim of reducing waste and increasing overall efficiency.

VICIVISION: fast and reliable quality control

The introduction of VICIVISION measurement systems has transformed the way Arcoprofil manages quality control.

“With VICIVISION, I can create a program from scratch, allowing the operator to inspect the part with confidence and be certain that the job has been carried out correctly.”

The aim is to reduce scrap and make the measurement process faster, more reliable and less dependent on the operator’s experience.

“In the past, a manual inspection took between 10 and 15 minutes and required several traditional measuring instruments.”

Thanks to VICIVISION, the entire process has been simplified and standardised.

“This system is described as error-proof. The operator’s influence is practically eliminated.”

The machine provides immediate and reliable results, simplifying operations that would traditionally require manual measuring instruments and complex inspections on the measuring bench.

Young operators, training and company culture

Like many manufacturing companies, Arcoprofil faces the challenge of finding qualified personnel.

“At this point in time, we are struggling to find skilled workers on the market. It is a challenge shared by all companies in the local area.”

However, the company has chosen to turn this challenge into an opportunity for innovation, creating an in-house training school for female machine operators and developing new initiatives focused on training and empowering people.

“An obstacle can become an opportunity to innovate.”

For Arcoprofil, innovation also means creating a working environment that values human contribution, creativity and the exchange of ideas.

“When you are happy to go to work, you bring creativity, a desire to innovate and new ideas to the company and your colleagues.”

Today, this diversity of perspectives represents one of the company’s key distinguishing values.
